Gail K. Wilson

Environmental Scientist

Ms. Wilson brings to Terra Technologies a strong educational and professional background in natural resources, conservation and ecosystem restoration encompassing more than 15 years of professional environmental experience. Gail has performed many wetland and stream system Jurisdictional Assessments in the Kansas City area. She also provides assistance on environmental permitting projects, as well as construction oversight on bioengineering projects.

Prior to joining Terra Technologies, Ms. Wilson worked in the Water Protection Program of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in the Permits & Engineering Section responsible for 401 Water Quality Certifications. Prior to her time at MDNR, Ms. Wilson worked as a Soil Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service providing education and support of conservation practices native plant enhancements and establishments.

Selected relevant project experience includes:

  • Missouri River Inner Levee Tract Jurisdictional Assessments - Kansas City, Missouri - Ms. Wilson assisted with a series of wetland and stream system assessments that encompassed more than four square miles of properties held in Clay County.  Because the owner is proposing to develop the sites, they wanted to know the locations of onsite wetlands and streams as well as possible locations for mitigation projects.  Ms. Wilson did much of the field work and worked with staff in all three Terra Technologies offices to help prepare the Jurisdictional Assessment reports.
  • Carroll Estates Jurisdictional Assessment - Raymore, Missouri - Ms. Wilson performed a Jurisdictional Assessment of an approximately 500 acre area intended for development.  This large property contained multiple open water bodies, herbaceous wetlands and forested wetlands as well as intermittent and ephemeral stream systems.
  • Lakeshore Meadows Threatened and Endangered Species Assessment - Olathe, Kansas - Ms. Wilson performed a Threatened & Endangered Species Critical Habitat Assessment to provide the required information to satisfy the conditions of the Kansas Nongame and Endangered Species Conservation Act, which requires the determination of critical habitat for state-listed Endangered or Threatened species, or Species-In-Need-of-Conservation (listed species) in areas deemed of concern by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). Ms. Wilson evaluated the property, which was found to be lacking in the critical habitat these two species of reptile required.
  • Steeple Oaks Wetland and Stream System Delineation - Kansas City, Missouri - The owner has proposed to develop a site containing wetlands as well as intermittent and ephemeral streams. Ms. Wilson performed field work and analysis as part of the jurisdictional assessment to determine the location and extent of waters of the U.S., including wetlands, on the property. A total of 0.43 acres of wetlands were identified along with approximately 2,000 feet of jurisdictional stream channels.
