Terra Technologies, Inc. is a St. Louis County-approved Major Land Disturbance Special Inspector with several qualified and experienced erosion and sediment control inspection professionals who are familiar with the creation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP’s) as well as the SWPPP inspection process.

The St. Louis County Land Disturbance Code requires that major land disturbance permit holders retain a qualified inspector (Major Land Disturbance Special Inspector or Special Inspector) to conduct regular inspections of disturbance sites, including all Best Management Practices (BMP’s) used for erosion and sediment and other pollutant control measures, outfalls, and off-site receiving waters in accordance with the inspection schedule outlined in the approved Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. These inspections ensure compliance with Phase II of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) authorized as part of the Clean Water Act.

Regular inspections are conducted and reported at least once per week as required and following heavy rainfall events (greater than 0.5 inches within 24 hours). Additional inspections are conducted and reported as necessary to fulfill requirements of the St. Louis County Land Disturbance Code.

Additionally, our firm also writes SWPPP's used to acquire Land Disturbance Permits.  These reports consist of a short description of the characteristics of the project site and the Best Management Practices (BMP's) that will be employed to ensure that sediments and other potential pollutants do not exit the site, as well as a description of the monitoring schedule for the site BMP's

Some of our current and past SWPPP creation or inspection sites include properties owned or operated by:
