Terra Technologies was retained by the project engineer, Pickett, Ray & Silver, on behalf of G.J. Grewe, Inc. to conduct necessary jurisdictional assessment activities as part of pending environmental permit applications for the subject parcel. The project site consisted of an existing commercial structure adjoining a jurisdictional intermittent stream channel, a tributary to Sandfort Creek. The stream channel was enclosed both upstream and downstream of the subject site and exists as a degraded reach across the subject parcel. The intent of the project was to continue the piped section beneath the site and newly proposed building to facilitate commercial development of the parcel.
Terra Technologies prepared the Nationwide Permit application in conjunction with the Jurisdictional Assessment and Conceptual Mitigation Plan for submission to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Offsite Compensatory Mitigation in the form of stream corridor restoration has been approved to offset unavoidable losses from development of the subject parcel. Terra Technologies successfully identified and secured an appropriate offsite location for the required mitigation efforts.
The Section 404 Permit has been granted from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as has the Section 401 Water Quality Certification from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
