Terra Technologies scientists performed a Jurisdictional Assessment on an approximately 50-acre property proposed for commercial development. Because more than four acres of wetlands and more than 400 linear feet of intermittent streams would be impacted by this project, an Individual Permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was required.
However, because the wetlands and ponds on the site were created as a result of sediment check dams built within streams with the purpose of improving stream health, Terra Technologies was able use our thorough knowledge of Clean Water Act regulations to negotiate a minimization of the amount of mitigation required.
In addition to the Jurisdictional Assessment and permitting of this site, Terra Technologies designed the off-site wetland mitigation area, which is currently under construction. |
