The May/June issue of Erosion Control Magazine, the official journal of the International Erosion Control Association, featured John Kahl, Principal Geomorphologist and Civil Engineer with Terra Technologies, in an article about the Turkey Creek flood control project in Kansas City, KS. In the article, Mr. Kahl explained some of the history of the project as well as some of the biotechnical engineering techniques used for stream stabilization and erosion control, including 2,000 linear feet of coir logs, 8,608 square yards of monofilament, 11,865 square yards of high-tensile Turf Reinforcement Mats, and 49,346 square yards of erosion control blankets. Additionally, the project requires the planting of 30,000 containerized plants.
