Press Release:

Scientists Receive 404 Permit for Tiffany Springs Parkway Roadway Project

September 19, 2011

David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Tiffany Springs Parkway Roadway Improvements Project in Kansas City, Missouri.

The City of Kansas City, Missouri proposed the extension of Tiffany Springs Parkway between 96 th and 100 th Street. In August 2011 Terra Technologies, Inc. completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States along the limits of the proposed roadway project. A total of 155 lineal feet of ephemeral stream channel and 2.30 acres of wetlands were identified along the new roadway alignment. The project proposed to impact all 155 lineal feet of the ephemeral channel for a road crossing and 0.40 acre of wetland for road grading. As the project impacted less than 0.50 acre of jurisdictional streams and wetlands and less than 300 lineal feet of jurisdictional stream channel, the project received Section 404/401 Nationwide Permit (NWP) Verification under NWP 14. The firm is further assisting the City of Kansas City, Missouri in satisfying mitigation requirements by obtaining bids for mitigation credits from third party mitigation providers. The road project is scheduled to begin construction in the fall of 2011.
