Terra Technologies, in conjunction with Swallow Tail LLC, announces approval of the Sni-a-Bar Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank in Jackson County, Missouri by the US Army Corps of Engineers in consultation with the Missouri Interagency Review Team.
The 90-acre restoration project was constructed by Swallow Tail in 2006 and 2007 to provide high quality wetland and stream mitigation credits for purchase within the Blackwater / Lamine Ecological Drainage Unit which includes the metropolitan Kansas City area. No less than 130 species of prairie grasses, wildflowers, wetland plants, trees and shrubs are established at the site in Grain Valley, Missouri. Scientists with Terra Technologies continue to monitor ecological improvements at the property.
Sni-a-Bar Creek is an impaired water on the Missouri 303(d) list. Restoration of the site contributes to improved water quality within the watershed.
