Press Release:

Five years Of Monitoring Completed At The Lakeside 370 Business Park Project In St. Peters Missouri

December 31, 2010

David Flick, Founder and Principal, is pleased to announce the firm’s completion of five years of extensive monitoring of more than 106 acres of existing wetlands that were preserved as part of the creation of the Lakeside 370 Business Park project in St. Peters, Missouri. The monitoring was required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Missouri Department of Natural Resources as part of the Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401 authorization of the project with the goal of determining whether the construction of the business park and its associated lakes would affect the hydrology, soils, vegetation and water quality of the preserved wetlands.

Under the project management of Shane Staten, Senior Wetland Ecologist, Terra Technologies performed hydrologic monitoring of groundwater levels twelve times a year and water quality laboratory testing quarterly as well as comprehensive annual monitoring of the site’s soils and vegetation. The collected data were synthesized and analyzed in comprehensive year-end reports. The final report was submitted at the end of 2010 and found no sign that the business park had affected the health of the wetlands during the monitoring period.

The monitoring of the preserved wetlands was only part of Terra Technologies’ involvement with the Lakeside 370 project. Our firm also designed more than 50 acres of forested, scrub-shrub and herbaceous wetlands and greater than 34 acres of riparian habitat required as compensatory mitigation for the project’s impacts to wetlands and streams.
