Press Release:

Firm Receives Waiver in Compliance with KCMO Stream Preservation Ordinance

June 10, 2011

The Kansas City Missouri Stream Preservation Ordinance regulates the preservation of stream corridors on development projects. The Little Blue Valley Sewer District proposes to use former 1970s-era waste water treatment lagoons at the intersection of Interstate 470 and Raytown Road for the operation of Excess Flow Holding Basins. As a requirement of the KCMO permit process, scientists with Terra Technologies delineated streamside, middle and outer zones in compliance with ordinance requirements. Because riparian attributes were disturbed by previous site development and site redevelopment is sited outside the streamside zone, the city issued a waiver to the client in compliance with ordinance provisions.

For more assistance with riparian delineations, contact your local office of Terra Technologies.
