David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for a large recreation lake for Drexel Ranch in Drexel, Missouri.
In October 2010 Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed lake project and submitted the findings to the Kansas City District of the US Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Division for an Approved Jurisdictional Determination (AJD). The January 2011 AJD identified 0.42 acre of wetland and 1,858 linear feet of ephemeral stream channel within the project boundary. As project impacts exceeded a total of 0.50 acre, an Individual Section 404/401 Permit was required. After a Public Notice was circulated, Terra Technologies assisted the owner in responding to substantive Public Comments received and provided an alternatives analysis that documented measures for avoidance and minimization during lake design. Terra Technologies is further assisting Drexel Ranch LLC in satisfying mitigation requirements by obtaining bids for mitigation credits. The project is scheduled to begin construction in the fall of 2011. |
