David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm was recently retained by a major heavy highway contractor to act as the quality assurance representative to oversee prairie restoration on the Botts Road project in South Kansas City, Missouri. The project is adjacent to the new Honeywell facility being constructed on Missouri Highway 150 west of US Highway 71. Craig Gump, a terrestrial biologist in the Leawood office will act as project manager for the effort.
Preconstruction tasks include the preparation of technical submittals. Quality assurance responsibilities will include supervision of site preparation, method of seeding and mulching, and general oversight for adherence to project specifications. Post-construction monitoring will include seasonal time meander surveys of the developing prairie and the oversight of maintenance performed by the landscape contractor.
