Terra Technologies and Flick Seed Company have successfully completed Clean Water Act permitting for the 108 th Street Roadway Improvements Project in Kansas City, Missouri.
In February 2011 the companies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed roadway project and submitted the findings to the Kansas City District of the US Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Division for an Approved Jurisdictional Determination (AJD). The March 2011 AJD identified a single 0.05 acre palustrine emergent wetland and 360 lineal feet of a single intermittent stream channel within the project boundary. The project proposed to impact 278 lineal feet of the intermittent stream channel for a road crossing and the entire 0.05 acre wetland for road grading. As the project impacted less than 0.50 acre of jurisdictional streams and wetlands and less than 300 lineal feet of jurisdictional stream channel, the project received Section 404/401 Nationwide Permit (NWP) Verification under NWP 14. Additionally, the firms assisted the applicant in receiving a waiver of mitigation requirements. The road project is scheduled to begin construction in the summer of 2011. |
