Terra Technologies staff have extensive experience related to the removal of Underground Storage Tanks (UST's) and Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST's).
The exact means and methods of the excavation and removal activities are determined during removal activities. The UST's and AST's are accessed, emptied of any remaining residual contents, purged of flammable vapors, and cleaned. Residual contents and cleaning materials are containerized for off-site recycling or disposal. A certificate of disposal will be requested from the disposal/reclamation facility.
The tank pits are visually inspected for the presence of petroleum-related constituents and post-excavation confirmatory soil samples are collected in accordance with the MDNR UST Closure Guidance Document.
In accordance with the MDNR UST Closure Guidance Document, if water is encountered in the excavation pit, it will be removed to determine whether groundwater or trapped surface water has been encountered.
